It was the luck of a coin's flip. Manami had decided to send one of her siblings to their death just before she died. She'd flipped the coin, and it had come up tails. Giving Momoko a suggestion, she sent her off into the neighborhood of where large spider webs had recently been reported. Lexanna found Momoko and snared her easily, convincing her to call her family. Though Momoko got ahold of Emiko desperately and her sister did come to try and save her, it was too late. She was incubated with countless eggs after being raped by the arachne's ovipositor. Coiled up in webbing, she was already barely hanging onto life, waiting for the children to hatch. Getting them all out of her was effectively impossible.
She was a dead woman walking, and her sister lucky to get out with her life...

Appearance: Momoko is generally mousy and bookwormish, carrying herself with a very self-deprecating demeanor. She dresses down constantly, in hand-me down clothing (though the family is wealthy). She has a somber, tired and morose look to her, and while she is attractive by most standards, there is a sense in which she always looks a little depressed and distant. Her eyes stare off into space, but not from lack of attention. She just feels like she can't quite bring herself to care much. The girl sighs often, rarely meets another person's eyes and walks with her head held down, whether out of a natural demureness or something darker, unclear.
Personality: "Tsuruko was the best of us," she said to her sister Manami_Maruyama when Tsuruko_Maruyama half volunteered to be the first victim of Abrienda's sick games. Manami had laughed in her face that day, and Momoko simply couldn't bring herself to oppose her younger sister. She could never bring herself to do much of anything, and she knew it. None of it mattered, because no matter what Manami planned, their mother would get what she wanted.
Momoko is brow-beaten into complete submission. Her mother, Azumi_Maruyama, raised her with the knowledge that she wasn't important to her, that she wasn't cared for, that she was a burden and a waste of space. Oddly, Momoko and Manami were the children closest to Azumi, and her general meekness made her an easy prey for both women's growing irritation at any particular problem in their lives, particularly as Manami grew older. She became their emotional punching bag, someone that they could abuse whenever the mood struck them. Time and time again, they reminded her how worthless she was, and eventually she began to believe it.
She's not the smartest, not the bravest, not the most athletic, but she isn't bad at anything that she does. Momoko is just very average, and she knows it. In a family like hers, that kind of 'average' feels dull, uninspired and uninteresting. So, she prefers to blend into the background. She's far more aware of the nature of the deal that her mother signed with Abrienda, and while she finds it horrific, she doesn't have the will to oppose her mother. She just waits for what she knows is coming. After all, that was the price, that they would all die so she could have everything she wanted.
She's been born for that purpose, so why should her death be any different? She's resolved herself to struggle, but fatalism has long settled into her heart.
