About

While the Western oceans have been home to mermaids, giant sharks, and the occasional cuttlefish girl, the eastern oceans in the world have had a bit more order instilled into them. Those that live in a small part of the world know and speak of Nerites, the Goddess of the Cove.

The Older sister of Niadra, Nerites not only sports an entirely different look (they are half sisters, same dad different mothers), but Nerites is the only one of the two siblings who has even an ounce of true power in her form. Daughter of a Major Goddess, Nerites took it upon herself to venture from home and find a spot befitting her control. However, most places were already taken, and what wasn't taken wasn't worth having in the first place.

After a few decades of searching, Nerites finally came across a large inlaid cove, complete with a town, an underwater cave leading to a grand home for herself (after some renovations), and a local population that wasn't under the influence of someone else. Thus, Nerites established herself as Goddess of that area, and became able to control the fortune and fate of that small area. As long as her graces are kept good, there are no storms, no pirates, and certainly no cataclysmic activity.


Goddess

Being Goddess of the Cove, Nerites was able to achieve a few abilities (usable only in that setting). The Water itself within the region of The Cove obeys her command, and while she doesn't deal with monotonous things like the tide, which is the domain of the Gods of the Sea itself, She can both lessen the effect of major waves and control the water in a specific location, creating whirlpools or even a single wave.

Also on her repetoire of abilities is her Blessing. As long as she has followers, zealots, believers, etc, Nerites is able to give The Cove a long standing run of good fortune and grand weather, although it is subject to any mood swings she may possess. If she feels they have not adequately served her, the Blessing may just as quickly become a Curse.
