One might think the entity reigning over all things negative and pessimistic might be a bit more... imposing. Well, you'd be incorrect there. Pessimism is, well, lonely. He wants to make friends and relationships, but he can never really keep himself from being a "buzz kill;" he doesn't even realise he's doing it.

Pessimism genuinely wants a connection with others, but his... Downer attitude often times drives them away. Be this a defence mechanism or something he really cannot help, he has no real connections or relationships.

Much like his brother, he is incredibly lonely and, despite their differences and despite how much distaste he feels for Optimism, he's all that Pessimism has. Sometimes, if they're both quiet, Pessimism finds his brother's presence... Tolerable.
