Backstory:

Rachell Wells was formerly a human from one of the more developed urbanised planets of the AWF (Andromeda-Way Federation). Her family was among the higher class, almost borderline nobility named the Rossalins. Such a status did not save them when they assisted and put their lives on the line against a corrupt Founder who had them all assassinated except Rachell. She was spared such a fate by the famous human scientist, Edward Wells, inventor of magitech and creator of several anthromorphic and demi-human species (latter’s formal name being tranhumans D). After the Founder and their followers was tried and executed for crimes that ranged from slavery to mass execution of a planet of workers, Rachell would be adopted by Edward. Under his wise, kind and encouraging tutelage, Rachell excelled in many fields of science and magic.

She strived to stand proudly alongside her adoptive father in the eyes of the denizens of the Federation, albeit in her own way. Something that caused much friction between her and Edward, the first of which was the former altered her biological and genetic make-up through the first ever safe H-T-WS transformation, with the were-shifter ability to change that is limited to anthromorphic and demi-human felines. The change was done in efforts to improve relations between humans, demi-humans and anthromorphs, and those between the latter amongst themselves. Edward felt that such an effort was too dangerous and did not tackle the causes of those rivalries.

The effort was met with mixed responses. The response to it and Edward’s disapproval drove her on to other projects in efforts to both improve upon the world and to be respected as her adoptive father. One such project became her break, that being the Regen/Lazarus Project.

The goals of which to potentially rid the world of death and to create individuals who could tackle the problems of the Federation that neither mortals nor Founders could tackle. Rachell ensured that the project was well funded and the safety and wellbeing of the candidates being paramount. The gradual successes of the project helped the denizens of the galaxies that Federation into an era of prosperity and safety.

While Edward was proud in her efforts, he confided in Rachell concerns for the potential negative consequences of the project in relation to other things that were occurring in the Federation. Rachell was divided, as she felt his concerns were too paranoid, yet she did consider them due to how uncharacteristic it was to express his fears.

After a long passage of time and the Federation expended and solidified its holdings, Rachell noticed many concerning problems that grew in her project. The growth of the problems started when the demands of the project outpaced the supply and means. Eventually Rachell founded that she was overruled and replaced as Project Director and assigned in a position where she had little power.

At first, Rachell and many of the researchers passively fought back against the increasing corruption of the Project as many of the new replacements started to conduct many illegal and immoral practices and procedures in creation/recruitment of the candidates and their purposes Eventually though, the Director tired of Rachell and her old guard’s resistance and had them punished. They were forced against their will to become candidates, many suffered cruel fates to imprisonment or enslavement, Rachell herself would suffer one of the worst. Rachell would be made into the director’s personal slave after a painful and flawed procedure to be made a L-candidate. The torment the director put her through was great from beatings from guards to creation of flawed beings like the lamia that struggled to survive past the initial birthing process due to rushed biological matters.

Eventually, Edward while he fought the corruption that was occurring across the Federation discovered what had happen to Rachell. In his cold fury and heartbroken desperation, he formulated a plan that caused two events that would help cause the collapse of the Federation. He gathered all the secretive data of the Federation and leaked it into the deep webs which the likes of the Zan used to conduct rebellions. After that, he enhanced himself so greatly with power that he surpassed all the most powerful beings in the Federation and marched into the governing seat of power.

Rachell unlike many other would witness first-hand the hurricane of violence of Edward’s rampage. A rampage that ended the government body with few able to have fled from the carnage. Among the latter being the Director who lost most of their body. Edward died not long after in the arms of his daughter as they consoled one another as the Federation collapsed into Civil War around them.

Rachell in honour of Edward and all others who suffered at the hands of the Regen/Lazarus Project, decided to honour them by destroying the technology and magic that the Project needed to create more candidates. With freed researchers, prisoners and candidates, Rachell organised them into a organization to strike the Project Headquarters. They named themselves the Followers of Rossalins. There they fought various loyalist and rebel factions in the Project Headquarters who wanted it for various reasons that Rachell felt could not be trusted with the technology inside.

Her force would succeed at great cost in destroying much of the facility but failed much to their collective shame in preventing many of secrets from within from leaking out with various factions. Despite this, Rachell and them decided to continue their efforts in finding these secrets and either destroying or sealing them away from the multiverse. As well as to amend the harm that their creations have caused and continue to cause upon the multiverse.

Rachell now continues said efforts, even if it means going by the ends justify the means approach as a last resort. Often righting wrongs that she can while making through worlds of many complications, while occasionally taking breaks for sanity’s sake.

Personality:

Rachell is a complex individual to many folks who slowly get to know her. A hard to read and occasionally wise scientist that on some levels cares for people and subjects. However, this is often hidden by a gruff and catty nature. A trait she is well aware of, and thus ashamed of it but feels that it is pointless to try and fix by now.

At a first glance some of her actions can seem spineless cowardliness, but it is more of pragmatism than cowardliness. She favors hasty escapes or begging to catch unaware predators to switch the tables on them. This pragmatic, sharp quick-wittedness often gets her out of trouble, but even fate and circumstances can switch the tables on her.

This ruthless and cunning intelligence of Rachell's is hidden well underneath a false timid demeanor and well tailored attractive appearance. When revealing her true personality, she is more than confident in her abilities, and this confidence and her wiliness to keep promises makes her quite trustworthy of a select fews she likes.

The researcher however is a solitary being who rarely comes out of her home and prefers her own company most of the time. Despite her demeanor, she does have a spiritual and philosophical side to her as well as a hunger for knowledge that borders on addiction. And as few close friends of her can attest to, Rachell can be a cheerful, warm, and generous person who simply want to do what is best for her and everyone she knows.

Abilities and powers:

The scientist's arsenal consists of several security bots and bioweapons, that while they are less than efficient sometimes, they are somewhat effective in defending her home.

The several bot and BOW types:

Crawlers: Modelled as spider-like robots, these are often used as scouting and light support units which may crawl all over walls and ceilings with special material on their legs' tips and their claws. They can also curl up into balls, a technique which allows for them to travel at speeds in which impact with individuals can very likely be fatal. These designs; and the armaments of light sub-machine gun, mine charges and grenade launchers, can make crawlers considerable threats despite their weak armour.

Altered Centipede: Massive centipede-like aliens, these insectoid Biological riot control weapons are a combination of magic rune enhanced insides and genetic altering science. The result is a monstrous beast whose massive, heavy bulky bodies can move at surprising speeds and have strong snapping jaws which can engulf whole crowds and bite through concrete, supported by a natural biological spittle that can entangle targets.

Aside from both the mechanical and biological weapons, Rachell has access to a vast array of magic that are powerful to counter many powerful enemies. However, even with these, Rachell can be at many disadvantages with wiser, powerful, and sneakier foes with better combat experience or stealth since her experience is in research, not combat.

And then there is her projects and experiments. From cloning to shrinking to even changing sex or species, Rachell has many tricks underneath her belt when it comes to scientific tools. Though she is naturally able to change her form into anthromorphic feline species and even one neko one, though the latter is with great effort.

She resurrects through magical energies that flow in reality, her form reconfiguring much quicker or slower than her Lazarus candidates. Her resurrection depends much on the strength of the magic energies residing around the place she had died in.
