Shyla is an odd naga.

Living on her own for a good portion of her life, she ran away from her parents early on. it was fairly soon after her first solid meal at around age 4. She doesn't remember much, other then the sight of her wiggy tummy, and her bawling over the fact that the bunny she just ate was squealing in her stomach. She had terrible night terrors over the next week, and when her parents brought her another adorable bunny, she wouldn't have it. Her parents let her go as she bolted away, assuming she would come back once she got hungry or scared. Instead, Shyla ran until she could no more, getting about 35 miles away over the next week before collapsing in the middle of the forest.

She woke up a few days later in a warm bed, and was awestruck, never having seen one before. She was bouncing on the springy mattress happily as the door to the room opened, an older woman and a girl about her age walking in. They had a bunny in a cage for the naga, thinking she might enjoy it after having been asleep for so long. Shyla of course stopped, and hid under the blanket. The woman and the girl eventually won her trust, and even love, however, as they nursed her back to health, teaching her different things she could eat after the poor girl cried her eyes out at even the thought of eating the rabbit. Knowing she was young and vulnerable, the old woman took Shyla in as her own, raising her and her new friend, Janice.

As the years passed, Shyla was taught most of what she knows by her adoptive grandmother and Janice, the girls essentially sisters. Eventually, about when Shyla turned 16, the grandmother passed on, leaving the girls alone in the world. Janice became a genetics specialist, while Shyla stayed at home, keeping house, since naga generally have trouble fitting in with modern society.

Janice, being the smart cookie she was, eventually found a way to alter Shyla's favorite treat, yogurt. Skilled in the culinary ways as well, she makes Shyla special yogurt, taliored to her naga biology. Made from the normal yogurt cultures, Janice also adds liquefied meat essence, providing the taste and nutrition Shyla's body needs. Unfortunately, she tends to need to eat it quite often, the heft of an actual prey lacking from the delicious treat. Janice has at least made Shyla a vast number of different flavors, ranging from her favorite, Bunny, to human, harpy, crab, and just about any other type of meat imaginable. Janice has actually come up with an alternate method as well, and is able to make yogurt flavored like any specific person. It involves extracting their genes, and altering the bacteria in the yogurt, making it taste like the individual...Shyla truly has no idea how it works, however, she's just glad it does.

She tends to keep a few cups of her yogurt with her in an insulated bag, as just about anything even slightly food related will make her hungry. After all, a naga was not meant to survive on yogurt and large fruit.

Recently, she had the good fortune of meeting the first naga she had seen since she left her family, Silrath. After a little chat, Silrath ended up feeling a little worried for Shyla, seeing as she was essentially alone, and didn't eat right (yogurt is fine and all, but tends to leave Shyla hungry nearly all the time). Feeling a strong bond quickly between them, Silrath offered to take Shyla as her own daughter. After a short consideration/snuggle, Shyla easily accepted, allowing Silrath to take her into herself, and make her her own. As a result, Shyla is now Silrath's daughter not only by status, but by blood as well.

Special Yogurt:
Shyla tends to seem a bit odd when she asks for a blood sample from her friends...it's really only used to make a yogurt flavor from them, though.
