As a young fledgling, Kyrii was always obsessed with the world outside the inactive volcano she was born in. Countless times she would be found at the edge of the crater, staring out over the mountain range at the world beyond, and countless times she would get in trouble for it, told that her place was with her sisters in the volcano, and to let the adults do the hunting.

Naturally, she rebelled.

When she was older and was allowed to make her first foray into the world outside, she came across a human village. At the time, she couldn't speak their language, but it intrigued her, and she'd listen for hours, making sure to steal some of the human's food before returning to the volcano with her group. For that, she was praised, but was warned to stay away from the humans at all costs. To that, she simply asked "Why?", and was silenced by her elders, telling her that she doesn't know any better.

Naturally, she rebelled.

After some time, she started sneaking out at night, going to the human village, sitting outside their houses, listening to them speak words she didn't understand. She wanted more than anything to be able to understand. In her quest for knowledge, she stole into the human library, mumbling to herself and trying to make sense of the words in the tome, nestled in a warm corner and away from prying eyes... until she was found by the librarian. She was ready to defend herself, but the human only offered her his hand, and, recognizing she wasn't in any danger, she took it.

Over the next few months, she learned from this human, sneaking out at nights to meet in his library. The first thing she learned about was human speech. Words were clunky and hard to form, but over time, she got a handle on the nuances and pitfalls of Common, or English in other sections of the world, and was speaking full sentences... albeit with a heavy accent, though actually writing it eluded her.

After some time, she noticed that her family was keeping her at an arms length, and eventually, she found out why; to her family, she no longer was family, and, by day's end, she was exiled, never to return to her birthplace. They expected her to beg.

Naturally, she didn't care, as her family was now with the humans. She left her home, went to the human village, and asked for help. She was given basic equipment, a compass, a backpack, some food, and a small pendant as a keepsake. She thanked them for her help, and went on her way to travel the world like she always wanted.

That was 3 years ago, and now she's a fairly learned explorer wandering the worlds. Her grasp on English has greatly improved, her accent long gone, and she's even gotten a small grasp on magic... though the ability to write in English still eludes her. Her time traveling has left her rather outgoing and open, even dominant at times, but still friendly to those that don't intentionally piss her off. She has since wandered into The Nexus, and is very eager to explore and learn what it has to offer, despite the dangers it hides...
