The Soul Sisters, from childhood rivalry to adult inseparable friendship
During the early years of their lives, Shani and Neela met at their elementary school. Children being themselves, the two made an odd pair. One day, they could be found giggling with each other and the next, fighting teeth and nail over the most frivolous thing. It was hard from an outsider’s perspective to know if these two truly liked each other. In truth, the pair had a bipolar relationship going on. Shani, who was having an easier time in class, aroused the ire of Neela by pointing out how dumb she was in class while Neela would take her revenge by telling the other how weak and unpopular she was. It was a well known fact that Neela was quite proficient in the athletics department and at that age, that usually translated into being slightly more popular. Still, when the clouds of jealousy and childishness would go away, the bright light of a blooming friendship would show its presence, they just didn’t know it yet.
Because of Shani’s successful grades, she was awarded a scholarship at a prestigious private high school in her town which she happily accepted, splitting the duo in half. Neela, on the other hand, proceeded to continue on to a public high school like most children. There, without any supervision and to the great dismay of her family, she started hanging out with the wrong crowd and went through a phase. Neela started skipping classes, started developing a dense “I don’t give a shit about anything” attitude and soon started to fall behind in class. Shani, on her side, soon realized that a private school didn’t mean instant happiness either. The girl was coming from a very modest background in a school where most paid to go to and where most where “purebred” species and not some kind of monstrous hybrid like Shani. The girl, being shy and being different, had issues making friends which eventually started affecting her moral then her grades. Her scores were so low that she was on the way to get expelled. Her parents, sensing her distress, sat down with her and a solution was found.
Mid way through her high school years, Shani was transferred to a public high school at her request as she couldn’t fit in a private high school (at least that one). Was it a coincidence or destiny, but Shani was sent to Neela’s high school. At first, the two didn’t meet as Neela was rarely seen at school and Shani was focusing on getting her grades back on track. The two of them met for the first time after their separation when Neela was brought to the office regarding her blatant disregard for her grades and Shani was already there, sorting some paperwork due to her transfer. The two of them recognized each other immediately and decided to meet outside of school to catch up since a few years back. After a long talk and a surprising insistence of Shani on Neela’s new attitude, the girl with the bad grades broke down and told the other about everything that had happened which led Shani to promise to Neela to do everything possible in order to help her old friend.
With both of them at work on Neela’s grades, they started going back up and so did Neela’s class attendance and an happiness she hadn’t felt in a long time. Neela regained her former confidence in herself and soon became the crowd pleaser she had been destined to be in the first place. Shani, who used to struggle making friends and who barely knew what a social life was, was suddenly swept up in the tornado of Neela’s new way of life. The girl who was once shy and closed on herself a bit was now part of the crowd, thanks to Neela refusing to accept no as an answer. With Neela’s grades going up and Shani’s social life blooming, both of them became inseparable and incredibly happy. Neela ended up with average final grades, which was a miracle considering how she had started and Shani had made a few new friends by the end of the year.
When they moved on to College/University, they decided to move in together as roommates. Not surprisingly, the duo worked together really well with each other. Neela would do the more physical chores around the apartment while Shani would take care of the budget and cooking. Shani would start working on a degree in Sciences while Neela quickly finished an associate degree in Physical Education as she soon figured out that she wasn’t cut out for too many more years in school.

Who is Neela and what is she?
Out of the duo, Neela can be described as the energy and the will of the both of them. She is outgoing, playful and is the type of girl who has issues sitting down. She is the most impulsive of the two and will not hesitate to act on instinct rather than think before going for it. Her hobbies include pretty much any physical activity and sports as well as pranking and teasing her friends and even strangers. Because of Shani, Neela is also more interested in reading than she was before, but she only enjoys adventure stories that are more entertaining than serious. Neela is also the kind of girl with who you’ll never (or almost) win an argument as she will fight teeth and claws to have the last word. She also uses that energy to protect her friends and family.
Neela came from a modest home and it was clear that she was going to be quite an energetic girl the moment she could walk. Her mother, being a bit overprotective, was always scared that her little girl would get hurt or lost. Her father though, would just laugh it off and find her little girl quite the show to watch. Their best and worst story (depending on who tells it to you) is when Neela was found in a closet with shelves, on the top-most one, sleeping. Her father was impressed that she managed to climb up there and immediately assumed it was because of her mountain goat ancestry. The only time they ever found Neela tired was after her father, a construction worker, brought her to work and allowed her to help him all day long. When Neela went through her rebellious phase (let’s call it that), her parents both got extremely worried for her and they tried all they could to help her even though they lost most if not all contacts with their little girl, but they were relieved once Shani showed back in her life again to help fix things up.
Neela is a hybrid mix between a wolf, a dragon and a bit of goat blood. She has the physical outlooks of a wolf, the furred, prehensile tail of a dragon and small white-silverish goat horns. She stands at 5’9 or so she did last time she measured herself. Being energetic, her strength lies in her agility and her endurance which means that while she’s above average in strength for a girl her size, she doesn’t have very visible muscles. On the pictures, she can be seen with blue eyes, white medium to long hair, a small pair of horns and darker grey fur covering most of her body.
Who is Shani and what is she?
Shani is the brain of the both of them and the voice of reason of Neela. She is more of a relaxed, introverted person and is more likely to be found quietly spending time by herself. Being more logical and rational, she’s the one that holds Neela back in a bad decision and take the time to evaluate a situation. Her hobbies include reading, listening to music, watching a movie or television and pretty much everything that can be done in the safety of home, while lounging or sitting down. Still, because of Neela’s influence, Shani is now interested in less intense sports like swimming, going on small trips and such activities as well. Being still somewhat shy, Shani has a tendency to let others step on her and take control, but she cares a great deal about her friends and family and will not let anything happen to them.
Shani was born in a home where the most commonly found thing was love. Her parents, both artisans, knew they wouldn’t be able to drown their little treasure in gifts, but she sure wouldn’t feel unloved. Both her parents were artists of a kind. Her mother was a painter and occasionally a writer, never publicly known, but still popular enough to bring in a decent salary. Her father was a wood worker who could make the most splendid furniture, but in the town they were, selling furniture wasn’t a high paying job either. Learning from her parents respective trades, Shani learned how to be patient and how to develop both her imagination and her more grounded skills. Still, the young girl soon picked up her own passion for reading and soon enough, there wasn’t a single bit of information the little girl didn’t want to learn. Her parents feared that their precious little one would stay at home too much and never make friends and their fear became almost real when she decided to quit a private school because she couldn’t do it anymore, but when Neela showed up and literally forced Shani to make friends (and good ones too!), her parents were very thankful for the help.
Shani is a hybrid between a fox and a dragon. She has the physical appearance of a fox and the furred prehensile tail of a dragon. She stands slightly taller than Neela, at 5’10. Being more laid back and lazy, Shani doesn’t show any particular sign of body muscles, but at least, she tries to stay fit as to not put on fat. On the pictures, she’s the one with red eyes, light grey fur that may even seem slightly pink with dark markings and a dot between the eyes.

Home sweet home
Of course, two girls must have a place to live and they decided to get a big house in a bit of a retreat from the park and it is surrounded by a natural fence of trees, making both the front yard and backyard very small while keeping the house a bit hidden from the main population of the park. It was originally an inn that they repainted and refurnished to make it their own, but they kept the concept and kept a lot of bedrooms to be able to invite many friends over and keep them over night. It has 2 floors and a basement, here is the plan:
Basement
It is mainly a playroom to relax and enjoy a movie or play some pool while having a drink at the bar. The floor is made of wood and the walls are fake wooden panels to give it an old feeling. Next to the stair, there is a small laundry room with cement floor and plain white walls with a closet that is used as a storage for all the unused clothes.
Playroom: Contains a huge couch and a very large high definition TV as well as a pile of pillows. It has a bar, a refrigerator and tons of drinks on shelves and storage units as well as glasses of different sizes. Next to the TV, there is storage shelves for DVDs, music CDs and games as well as a bookcase that only has few books in it. It also contains a pool table and a "foosball" table.
Laundry room: Contains the two needed washing machines as well as a closet for unused clothes(winter coats during summer and vice versa)
First floor
From the entrance, you get to the left the kitchen and the dining room in one big room which can be access through 2 door frames without doors.. The kitchen is floored with black and white tiles with gray walls and the dining room is floored with wood and the walls are a soft brown to fit with it. In the middle, you can find the hallway that contains the stairs to the second floor and the door to the stairs of the basement plus the door to the backyard. To the right, you get the closet to store your shoes and your coat if you have one as well as the bathroom and behind the staircase, there is the second guest room of the house.
Kitchen: Contains all the pans, plates, tools and stuff to cook and eat. It also has a refrigerator, a oven, a microwave, a toaster(not shown), a dishwasher and a sink.
Dining room: Contains a table with 8 seats as well as a couch that the girls didn't know where to put so they put it there so those who don't cook don't have to sit at the table to speak with the cook(s).
Bathroom: Contains a toilet, a bathtub, a few cabinets with mainly first aid stuff and cleaning products as well as a sink and a mirror.
Second guest room: Currently unoccupied, it contains a queen size bed, two nightstands, a dresser with a mirror on it, a normal dresser and a wardrobe.
Second floor
As you climb up from the stairs, you'll find the first guest room to your right and the masters'(or mistresses') bedroom to the left. When you turn around to walk into the hallway, you get the masters' bedroom to your right as well as an unfinished room with lots of useless stuff in it. In front of you, you'll find the bathroom and to the left, you'll find the first guest room again, but also the living room of the house.
First guest room: Currently occupied by Codo, it contains a queen size bed, two nightstands, a dresser with a mirror on it, a normal dresser, a cabinet and a wardrobe.
Masters' bedroom: Occupied by Shani and Neela, it contains a king size bed, two nightstands, a large dresser with a mirror on it, a normal dresser, a cabinet and a huge closet full of clothes.
Living room: Contains a small couch, a coffee table, a piano, a table with two chairs(usually with a chessboard on it), a bookcase and a medium sized high definition TV.
Bathroom: Contains a bathtub and shower as a whole, a few cabinets containing a few first aid stuff with hygiene stuff. It has two sinks, two mirrors set in two pharmaceutical cabinets(one for each girl apparently) and a toilet.
Unfinished room: Currently unoccupied, it contains a single bed, a wardrobe, a night stand, a dresser and a big mess full of all the stuff that the girls couldn't put anywhere else. It is considered like the attic.

For those who had known about the group Shani and Neela had tried to create, it will be put one the ice for now due to inactivity. It will most likely be created again and all old members will gain their ranks back should they wish to, but at the moment, consider the project closed.
