Alaudi is a follower of the "Blood of Vol", which teaches it's followers that everyone has a "Divinity Within". Each person must find thier Divinity to live a full and meaningful life. Alaudi takes this idea to it's extreme, not only believing that this the divinty within is literal, but it is a source of one's power and can be taken. Along with other cult extremist, Alaudi search for a teacher that could grant her the ability to absorb another's Divinty. After finding and paying her a heafty amount of innocent souls, Alaudi was instructed by a succubus on how to steal souls, (presumably) where the divinity within resides. While Alaudi's moral body cannot steal souls in their entirety with a kiss like her teacher can, she was gifted the ability to ingest others and either take a part of thier souls and leave them alive, or take both thier souls and bodies. Alaudi, having learned this power, now sets off to find both who may donate to her very growing divinty within, willing or not. It's a Dangerous world however, and Alaudi may have to avoid contributing to someone elses divinity, or more likely gut. Alaudi does have a contingency plan clone in a safe place.

Alaudi's History

The dark elf grew up in Ebbron, a land of elementally fuelled innovation, but as part of a barbaric Tribe of her kin. This was the usual on this realm, the drow here having no connection to Lolth. However, This life wasn't one for Alaudi, we desired more. She didn't like the idea of submitting to a god, but found preacher testifying to the divinity with us all. Alaudi took to this, learning the ways of the blood of vol. The drow however was passionate, which landed her a spot within a more secretive cult within the faith that wished to capture others "divinity" by consuming them. Alaudi participated in this, her raiding lifestyle before her faith already making her used to eating thinking flesh. Between a mix of not getting anywhere and knowing her people and many other peoples eating humanoid flesh. Alaudi studied the matter, finding 2 important details in her research:
1) Gods get their powers from devotion from creatures with SOULS
2) devils trade in souls as a currency and source of power
Between these two details, Alaudi concluded that the divinity within must be referring to the soul, thankful her research had told her that Succubus could consume souls like she wished to do. Alaudi made a deal with a succubus to teach her this skill, trading the lives of her fellow Vol devotees for this power. The drow elf had to put her ambitions on pause, however, as her home was threaten by an extra planar threat. Lolth, who Alaudi had learned a bit about in her studies, had spread her faith to some of the drow of her plane, the demon spider looking to manifest fully in Ebberon. With the help of a new ally she found along the way, Gemlynn the dwarf, the pair rebuked the alien god and followed her back to faerun to weaken her power from within. Alaudi found she liked this new plane, however, especially after meeting Sprigin and [[Cassandra Lancaster]]. Alaudi began to soften after by happenstance saving her home plane, her new companions making her choose her meals more carefully as to not upset the ones she cares about. She can often now be found in the city of waterdeep, managing the affairs of her party members and acting as a material figure to the group.
