Lorisa

Backstory:

Lorisa was born into one of the planets from a different universe that the AWF established contact with. Said planet was the site of industry for material and manufacturing of nanites by the TransHoss Inc., a very controversial conglomerate that specialised in nanotechnology and its many applications from military to medical fields. A year before Lorisa was born an event that became known as the Dronfpal disaster occurred. One of the megacomplexes lax safety measures resulted in an explosion and release of clouds of prototype nanites spreading over several countries. The nanites reacted in various ways to the ecosystems, from causing the textbook example of the grey goo scenario to causing birth defects and metahumans.

Lorisa would become one such metahuman as her mother kept pet crows that carried one such strain of the nanites that would break down and alter the DNA, biological and chemical structures, often resulting in horrifying amalgamations between species or even material such as rocks with flesh. Both the unborn Lorisa and her mother almost perished were it not from the emergency aid of a volunteer group from the AWF. Even though both survived, both were altered as Lorisa would become a metahuman’s classification of a werebeast (in her case, a werecrow) while her mother would suffer from alterations that result numerous disorders from mental and physical.

Her father was among many who filed a class action lawsuit against TransHoss Inc., the conglomerate itself suffered mass financial and PR hits as investigations by the AWF and the local government found attempts at covering up the accident from the negligence in safety measures to bribing and threatening of victims who suffered from it.

Despite the struggles with her metahuman forms and prejudices to both her race and being a metahuman, Lorisa would go far with the aid of friends and eventually graduated from a renowned University in the field of Investigative journalism.

Her career of investigative journalism consisted of exposing corruption in all shapes and forms as well as injustices done to all walks of life across the multiverse. A career that had almost ended her life many times and created many enemies.
The one case that almost ended her life the closest was also the one which she became a Lazarus, though not by choice.

The case involved the investigation of the Regen/Lazarus Project and the under wrapped practices it had partaken in. When she had nearly completed her investigation, one of the Lazarus researchers caught onto her and released a prototype Lazarus, code named Ribeiroia, to eliminate her and the evidence. After the brief confrontation that left her safehouse destroyed and her team dead along with the Lazarus, Lorisa would come out of the event infected with the Lazarus’ resurrection method.

For many years she continued her work and contacted those pitted against the Project, one of which was the Zan freedom group and met their members: Kios, Dios, and Phoenix. The three of which helped her in keeping her sanity and control of the parasitic creature that wrestled with her for control.

This aided in her actions during the AWF Civil Wars. During its peak she aided in the Storming of Project, her role was to aid in the release of candidates and other victims of the project. Sadly, she would have to turn against her allies as argument escalated into infighting among them. Lorisa fled the scene of chaos and commandeered a ship with many escapees of the project. From there she travelled amongst the stars, trekked across many planets, and jumped through many portals before she settled down.

Currently she lives in a cabin house near a country town mechanic and handyman shop named Sanford and Steptoes. Occasionally she ventures out to do journalism of every kind, be it investigative or just tourism.
