Mainspring_Alts

No man is an island. Every being's story touches others, and from the grand scheme of things, it all makes some kind of sense.

So, yeah, this is an altlist of my various characters. Which currently number six, but here they are, roughly grouped by setting.

A few ground rules, though:
1. Decent grammar is not only preferred, it is required. I will grade on a curve, but you WILL be at least passingly familiar with how to make a distinct sentence (punctuation at least, capitalization is good).
2. I pay attention to the plot in my RP's. If I think it's being overruled for no good reason (be it bad writing or just putting fetish over quality), I will be much displeased.
3. Please, it would be wonderful if you had an idea of what you want if your LFRP sign is up. I hate spending effort on an RP plot only for it to get shot down, especially multiple ideas. If you have an idea that fits my preferences, it's a definite plus for you.
3a. As a corollary, I prefer to approach OOC even if your status is IC. Wasting part of an RP is worse than wasting a bunch of plot threads.
4. Thirty minutes is the maximum I will wait on a reply. If life gets in the way, I won't bear you any hard feelings. However, if I don't know why you haven't responded in an hour, I'm allowed to move on.
5. If we politically disagree, I'm OK with that. If your whole profile is a potshot at something (anything), find someone else. If you're going to start off your post with a speech about something (anything), find someone else.
6. If you're LFRP, please have an idea of what you want. At least a premise. If you have nothing, I have a few ideas, but nothing turns me off faster than all of them being rejected and you not having an alternative.
7. Your character MUST be 18, out of high school, and look the part.

The City Under Mainspring Mountain:

A wonder that is so very old and so very mysterious. No-one knows who created the vast clockwork mechanism that makes this city so famous, or why. However, a surprising number of people seem to be interested in staying there, despite the myriad monster attacks and surprises left behind!
Syler Varsson: Male wolf anthro/feral/demi. A clocksmith who gives his all to the city, including his sanity, a few extremities that will be missed, and any hope of a life of his own.
Sergeant Amanda Varsson: Female wolf anthro/feral/demi. Elite Ranger. Unfailingly personable, but also undyingly persistant.

Colonna University:

One of the earliest universities in the state of Delaware, situated in the town of Xenophon, just outside of Dover. Their research is top-notch, and their rivalry with other universities is awe-inspiring...
Dr. Nyssa Talleran: Female elf. A renowned biologist, famed for her ability to go into active warzones or natural disasters and always get her data.
Masego Ramotswe: Female brown hyena anthro. Rather well-to-do, but decided to travel to Colonna to study catering. A little overly studious, but never aloof.
James Pachis: Male human. Used to play high school baseball and comes off as a nice, caring guy. However, he is a master manipulator, and often enjoys near-sadistically manipulating people (he considers causing Saw-level pain to be beneath him).
Veronica Zant: Female human. A bit of an ice queen and a perfectionist. She's very protective of the fact that she knows how to eat people, but she's obsessed with learning more.

His Excellency's Starfleet:

For over two-hundred years, men of iron have patrolled the Local Group of galaxies, enforcing the peace, seeking out the unknown, and helping fledgling systems take their first steps into a larger world.
Airman Oran Sykes: Male pangolin anthro. A good soldier, skilled pilot, and master survivor, if a little distant.
Lieutenant Colonel Daleana Ask: Female plant-woman. Formerly posted at the home office, just now testing her space legs.

Mystery?

Even to the wisest, some things are bound to be a little strange. Where did these people come from? Why are they here?
Kaliya: Female shapeshifter (reptilian by default). Someone who is older than the art of writing and has seen so much. While she has led a bit of a lonely life and looks down on normal people a little, she still wouldn't trade immortality for the world.
Kyle Fairbanks: Male shapeshifter. A former teenage dork now on a quest to discover who he really is. While still a little dorky, this is a man who knows how to handle himself now.

Other

The world's a big place, full of a variety of creatures.
Thealon zu Kahl: Male dragon. An academic who's had to leave his home for... reasons, and who spends his days gathering knowledge to eventually bring back home.
