• Lords of Order are blatantly ripped from DC comics. Thanks. the governing entities that maintain balance within all
of the realms. They exist outside of all of the universes, constantly combating with their antitheses: The Lords of Chaos. Most
entities in all of the given universes are unaware of the existance of this grand group of balance-maintaining strong-arms, and the
few that DO know are not supposed to speak of them or their "jobs." Most of the individuals that know about the Lords of Order only
do so because they themselves have personally interacted with them.
They are near-omnipotent and, when not bound to physical form, can be near-omnipresent. Their physical forms can come in many
different sizes and shapes, though they often-times end up subconsciously choosing physical forms that at least somewhat resemble
whatever the individual Lorder had been in their former life.
Dakki - Formerly a kitsune daiyōkai tasked with monitoring
a seer whose indiscretion with her "gifts" constantly places the realms in
grave danger.
Daniel - (Note: Character not played by this list's owner, but is listed here despite that) A
former Archon that was taken into
the Order and given the task of watching a certain fledgeling goddess to be sure
that her fragile and open spirit couldn't be exploited by any ne'er do wells.
---
• Lords of Chaos are less powerful than their orderly counterparts, but what they lack in power, they make up for in that they
are greater in number and in ruthlessness. They follow no rules and seek to only to ruin.
---
• Deities are (typically) yōkai from the Yomi afterlife-- a world where spirits grow increasingly stronger. They are summoned
and bound by humans to fill a need that they collectively have. The summoning happens at random; any yōkai can be pulled from the
off-world for any purpose. The portal opens and whichever yokai passes through first is given the position.
If two yōkai pass at the same time, they are either both forced into the same body, or are given two separate bodies that are linked
(meaning if one becomes injured, the other suffers the same injury). If the party summoning gives their new deity a name, the
yōkai filling the role is forced to take it-- no matter what it is. They also have the memory of their past name cleansed from
their mind.
Their powers come from their following and from sacrifices. A lack of one weakens them. So long as they are able to consume souls,
they can live. To discourage deities from just gobbling up a soul and abandoning their followers, eating souls not given through
sacrifice or offering is a very ineffective method to feed. While human/living sacrifice is the most effective method for a deity
to attain sustenance, any "offering" given up by a follower is much more effective than the deity simply taking anything it
wants.
Being in good graces with their following gives a deity power. For some, having vassals closeby gives them more. Conversely, for many
deities, having the mortals scorn your name is only good for making them ill.
If a deity happens to perish, their spirit is sent back to Yomi. Once there, most other yōkai are hard-pressed to kill the former-god
and use that to add value to their namesake.
Dayanara - A deity that had stored back enough power so that she could manage to
create her own universe. Unfortunately, something went wrong and she created a horrible abomination alongside her new universe.
While she could have destroyed the threat, she had loved everything she made from the start, so she instead decided to seal the
monsters away within her womb.
Hatred - A god of hatred that possesses multiple personalities. The first of whom is
fairly agreeable whilst the other is violent and, of course, consumed with a deep hatred of everything. The "aggressive" side
lays dormant within until it finds something "interesting," then it takes over and suppresses the "docile" personality.
JandeJari - A giant anaconda Greater Deity that was summoned by a tribe that thought
women were inferior. As such, she was treated as though she were of less value than she would have, had she been a male deity. Of
course, she straightened this misthinking out quickly and has since gotten pretty decent control over her following... Though she
still could not get them to treat the women better.
Jaymay - Formerly a human girl up to be the virgin sacrifice for her village's
deity, Jaymay's soul was fused with the powers of a dying fallen god and given divine powers. She now is a goddess of
fertility.
Kamidere - A sea-dragon based off of the greek goddess Ceto who was given her human
body by a dying woman. She hails over the dangers and monsters of the sea.
Mai - A land-god who lost her following due to advances in technology. She is a
starving deity forced to fend for herself.
Pyramus - A draconic deity based off of the Hawaiian goddess Pele who hails over
volcanoes and fire. She's possessive, territorial and doesn't get along well with other deities.
Rekyht - A fertility goddess born from the soul of a weak bird yōkai pulled from Yomi.
She lived a boring first life and died without ever having children. Rekyht thought that, being reborn as a fertility goddess,
she'd finally have her chance to have a family of her own. Unfortunately, for all her trying, nothing helped. Seems she herself
is infertile.
Rowena - The serpentine goddess of the hunt and of land beasts. She's very friendly
and affectionate; extremely easy to get along with.
Tzipporah - Gupi after having died and ascended to be a deity of the feast.
Yuuta - Formerly a handmaiden to a powerful sea goddess, Yuuta has begun the process
of starting her own following.
---
• Vassals are beings that dedicate their lives to someone/something (normally a deity, but sometimes just powerful beings);
they are the most devout of followers. Most often, they are beings that were saved by whoever/whatever it is they are following
and devote as much of their time/energy as possible to make their lord's ideals/wishes/wants/etc come true.
Babosa - A sea slug given ability to follow her dreams of tasting everything
if she were to also spread word of the new goddess wherever she travelled.
Cuttlefish - A female cuttlefish made to be the new vassal of a fallen god with the
purpose of recruiting a new following for said god.
Squib - Once a lonely squid bullied by others in his home, Squib was blessed with a
humanoid form by his goddess Kamidere. He works to serve her as best he can.
---
• Familiars are (normally) beings created to serve their creators (Again, these are normally deities, but anyone with enough
power can make a familiar). They are bound to their creators in that they are to obey whatever command that their masters give; the
stronger the command, the more likely they are to be compelled to do it (meaning that an actual command is to be obeyed; requests
can still be made, giving the familiars a sense of independence). Most have a deep respect for their masters and will heed any
requests made. There are also familiars that can be made out of vassals, if the proper mixture of magic and binding is used.
Familiars also serve as a power reserve to their masters, meaning that the ones they serve are able to draw from their innate
abilities and magical reserves to further strengthen/empower themselves.
If a familiar's deity/master dies or breaks their contract, they are free to live their lives as they please. Some rush to find a
new master, as they feel that their purpose is to serve. Many others spend time to enjoy their new freedom. However, any being
with strong magic can tell who is a familiar and who isn't, and if a familiar has a strong enough magical reserve, their
independence may be at risk.
Nanashi - A gerbil kemonomimi accidentally summoned by a powerful sorceress
looking to create her own panther familiar.
Syrus - A former familiar to a powerful sorcerer who has passed away. Syrus loved his
master and has refused to take another, as he feels none can fill the void that his previous master left in his heart.
---
• Daiyōkai are extremely powerful demons that are much stronger and smarter than the common yōkai. They have extremely long
lifespans that can, potentially, go on until they are physically killed. Daiyōkai vary in shape and size, and typically have the
ability to shape-shift.
Faunus - The sheep daiyokai worshipped by Gupi's people as a deity. He's
extremely powerful, obviously, as all other daiyokai are, and in charge of the huge clan of the ram yokai.
Gatenmaru - A moth daiyokai born to the great Moth family that was extremely
distressed to learn that the moth that would be taking the place of the clan head was an Antagonist. She is excellent in her
leadership, but many are still extremely uncomfortable with the stigma of an Antagonist leading the clan.
Itazu - An extremely powerful kyuubi who has taken up residence as a deity at a
shrine. She isn't actually a deity, but she is worshipped as one.
Kuudere - A fox who spends her days defending the lives of humans without really
trying to get close to them, as she once loved a human in her past.
Magatsuhi - A two-tailed cat of Antagonistic spirits. He sees himself as the rival
of Nanami and often goes out of his way to take what belongs to her.
Nanami - A six-tailed fox of Antagonistic spirits who is fairly aloof. She's one
of the most powerful of her kind and was, surprisingly, born to two parents of the same type. The trait for antagonism appears
randomly throughout yokai, which makes it extremely unlikely for two Antagonist parents to have an Antagonist child. (See also:
Zoof.)
Nihilist - A fox who is, personality wise, opposite of Kuudere. Many wonder if the
two are related, but there is no evidence of any actual ties between them.
---
• Yōkai are demons that can take on many different shapes, though their shape-changing abilities are extremely limited. It is
said that if a demon can take on the form of a human, then it is truly powerful; while non-humanoid demons (lesser demons) are
strong enough to be trouble for normal humans, they pose little threat to any that hold any real magical/spiritual abilities, such
as sorcerers and priests.
Social behavior among yōkai is also extremely varied; some are especially close-knit in clans (such as the Cheshires), and others
(such as Bakeneko) prefer to travel alone.
Astika - A snake servant-turned-concubine who lives like royalty. He's extremely
shallow and cares not for anyone who doesn't have something to give to him.
Enka - A nine-tailed kitsune whose duty it is to protect nature. She hates humans
most of all because of how much natural land they've destroyed with their settlements. She also detests any yokai or kemonomimi
that live the same way. She and hers live a nomadic lifestyle, living off of the land and never destroying anything
naturally occurring.
Eru_ - A fox yōkai that was to serve as the vessel for the clan's deity. This,
however, was ruined. The deity required a pure vessel exposed to only certain things and only allowed to eat certain things. One
of the people looking after her didn't know the specifics of this (as it was on a need-to-know basis and this person didn't 'need'
to know) and gave her things she wasn't permitted. Because of this, she was shunned from the clan. Now she wanders, happy for her
new freedom.
Freido - A rat yōkai born into a family that runs the criminal underground in his
universe.
Juura - A rakkineko who basically gets whatever she wants whenever she wants. Most
live in fear of getting on her bad side and try very hard to remain in her good graces, as her favour brings good fortune and her
scorn brings horrible luck.
Kivar - A tiger youkai that wants to explore the world.
LianWu - A dragon from the Wu family, an extremely powerful dragon-demon clan who
was given the position as ambassador between the lands her family reigns over and others. However, her being sent is only a
formality. In truth, her cousin is the one who assesses whether or not Lian should be sent somewhere, as Lian is not the
brightest. Because of this, Lian is only sent to lands of which her family has already chosen to form alliances.
Machismo - A Chupacabra who was disowned by her father because she refused to
conform to their species' customs.
Mashiro - A fox yōkai wed to a wealthy lord. Though she is up in age, she still
appears quite young. Despite this, her husband prefers the company of his concubines, leaving this fox to try to find other means
to entertain herself.
Mizutani_Ayaka - A fox yōkai who was raised by a powerful human clan. She now spends
her days travelling and helping humans as best she can. She's a bit mistrusting of other yōkai due to her bias towards humans.
MuOnna - A Mu-On'na (or Nothing Woman) who feeds by absorbing lonely/yearning
individuals who have suffered the sort of loss similar to the one the souls that spawned her did.
Nakuru - An extremely old phoenix forever indentured to the Kebrove family, and
who has been serving as the head maid of the estate for thousands of years. Despite her appearance, she is very old.
Sayo - A three-tailed bakeneko who behaves more like a cat than a person.
Bakeneko are born from the spirits of cats that die after lives of being mistreated by humans. Sayo is no different.
Sheep - A very dumb sheep yokai in a clan that descends directly from Faunus.
She was an embarrassment to her family and, as such, they were going to have her killed. She managed to escape and now roams
alone in the wilderness, trying her best to adjust to this new world and to being on her own.
Vynni - A very weak fox yōkai raised by humans who has come to fear all demons.
---
• Entities are beings that embody specific, non-sentient things. Some form naturally, other come into existence with forced
magic. They are extremely difficult to kill and are virtually immortal. If one manages to kill the ones that form naturally,
another is born to take its place.
Jex - Created by a secret society of sorcerers, Jex was supposed to be able to tell
them the key to the universe. The only problem was, after creation, Jex had no idea what they were talking about. They had to
teach her to speak, even. And after teaching her of things and letting her learn on her own, she still was unable to tell them.
The scientific sorcerers were then forced to raise this being that called itself a Starchild, who turned out to be quite
mischievous!
Mari_Christmas - Entity of Christmas Cheer.
PandorasBox - The entity of darkness that was sealed away at the dawn of the
universe in order to make room for life. It was entrusted to a woman who ended up opening it and unleashing all of the bad
things in the world.
Pessimism - The entity born of negative energy.
Optimism - The entity born of positive energy.
---
• Fairies are typically creatures bound by a cursed seal on their strong magical abilities. This forces them to be
subservient to whoever manages to capture them and entrap them in a closed container. They are forced to grant wishes. When
trapped, the only way they are able to use their powers is to grant a wish. However, within the past century, there have been
fairies able to resist the compelling pull of their curse to grant wishes once contained.
ToothFairy - The Tooth Fairy is a type of fae that doesn't have to grant wishes,
though their magical abilities are still stifled quite a bit when trapped in a closed container.
Walnut - The first fairy of her kind able to access any magical ability on their own
when entrapped. Because of this, she's extremely valuable to her people and if she is killed, they will go to any means to bring
her back-- even if it means that they have to sacrifice another of their kin. Walnut is the leader of the garrison that goes and
tries to retrieve captured fairies.
---
• Kemonomimi are created from the union of yōkai and humans. They typically have much weaker magical abilities compared to
their yōkai counterparts. Many yōkai see them as disgraces to their kind. The derogatory term for them is "Hanyō," which means
half-breed.
While Yōkai have no choice but to go to Yomi when they perish, Kemonomimi are given the chance to choose which afterlife they go
to-- be it the human one (where they will go through the same process with the same status as all perished humans) or to the yōkai
afterlife, Yomi. Many don't go to Yomi, as they're extremely likely to be killed there if they don't have a yōkai counterpart that
likes their mixed-blood kind.
Agnes_ - The daughter of a dragon demon and a human who was born and raised on the
farm that her mother had inherited from her dead parents. She was kept mostly sheltered for her life with little interaction with
others outside of her parents and their small circle, as dragons were not well-received in her homeland.
Akizuki - Doughbrove's lap-cat, formerly an orphan living in the nearly
un-inhabitable swamp-land of the planet Glabra. She was taken in and put into training to be a maid, but after realising her
incompetence (as well as a soft spot within himself), Daniel Kebrove thought it best that she, instead, become the unofficial
princess of the estate.
Alannis - A tomboyish inumimi that loves to tinker and wants to learn to build
things. She left home at sixteen to study under an inventor and assist him in his endeavours. Now he's deceased and she's looking
for another one!
Aria - Gupi's younger sister who left as soon as she was able. She hated her
home and was happy to leave, as she finds herself much better suited to life on the outside of her former home.
Bibby - A coati kemonomimi who was "rescued" from the barbaric tribe she was raised
in by the "generosity" of humans who want to make all sentient creatures "civilised."
Chispas - A very small female mouse!
Cozette - A nekomimi born in a world where kemonomimi and yokai are extremely rare.
She's suffered through many traumatic experiences and, as such, has come to hate both humans and other kemonomimi.
Doja - A binturong lass that wants nothing more than to be swept off her paws by
her prince charming.
Faun - A deer lass born to a clan that worships a powerful deity whose magical
energy is enough to kill it and destroy a good portion of land. It pours magic into all of its followers and seals the magic,
leaving Faun's kin under the guise that they shan't try to awaken the magical power within them. Faun wanted more, though, and
ended up being banished for practicing magic.
Goat - The bastard son Baphomet and a human. goth trap gf-bf
Gupi - A sheep kemonomimi born to a tribe that has distanced itself from humans. They
worship the deity Faunus. She and her sister were both daughters of the tribe leader. When he passed, both left. Gupi still holds
many of the odd customs of her tribe and has had a difficult time adjusting to life away from her homeland.
Iriko - A rabbit gal that reminds folks that there's more to people than what they
seem to be on their exteriors!
Kirioshi - A female fox kemonomimi with magical abilities studying to be a sorceress,
but her drinking problem and gambling get in the way of her progress.
Meatball - The son of Gupi after she meets and weds Danielle_Obrove.
Mitty - A chubby sheep that felt so ostricised for her weight that she left her home
to start a new life. Like Gupi, she's having trouble adjusting, but she's doing a much better job than the purple-haired ewe!
Nicolle - A hamster kemonomimi born the heiress to a very wealthy hamster family.
Despite their small size, they hold a huge amount of money and socio-economic power. Nicolle herself is but a child of privilege
and fortune who thinks herself a princess.
Pig - A former pageant-girl who now loves that she is able to eat whatever she wants
without worrying about her mother breathing down her neck about fitting into her pageant dresses.
Teegan - A female moth raised by a butterfly couple that wanted nothing more than to
grow beautiful, colourful wings once she went through her metamorphosis. She fervently denies that she is a moth, despite her
clearly being one, as she finds them (and herself) ugly.
Twig - An exotic dancer frog that uses the money he earns to pay off his student
loans.
Yoshino - Bunny hanyou
---
• Elves
are made through the breeding of humans and fairy-folk. They maintain the humans' freedom, size, and as such are
typically not cursed with fairykind's burden of being sealed when held in captivity. They do not have to grant wishes. While they
can have immense power (seemingly greater than most "free" fae), they do have to train and work hard to hone their abilities, much
like any magically-gifted humans would.
They typically have more power and a much higher longevity than humanity does. They
(typically) are of the belief that nature is to be worshipped, not anything artificially created. At least, that was the case
traditionally. As time passes, more and more elves are subscribing to a more "modern" outlook.
Hitomiko - A half-elf whose home village was pillaged and then burned just for the
fact that they housed hanyou (half-breeds). She was only kept alive by her immense spiritual power preserving her body before
she was found by a group of travelling monks. She was taken as a pupil by Ginta, one of the monks from the group that found her,
and taught to harness and control her spiritual power. He gave her the name she uses, and through him, she became a priestess.
Once he passed on, he left her his staff, which resonated with her spiritual power. It now only responds to her will.
---
• Other individuals can vary. These beings don't properly fit in any of the aforementioned categories and, in order to save
space (since it's silly to create a whole new species category when there will be just one or two of them), the player has
decided to make a branch for these.
Fuyu - A peppermint golem created by a witch that owns a bakery to fill the role of
"daughter" for the old, lonely, wicked sorceress. Fairly apathetic, sometimes even cold and uncaring, much to the witch's chagrin.
Ovo - A very cheerful egg-girl with no idea of her origins or her purpose.
Pecan - A half-youkai, half-fairy lass who is obsessed with humans. She
finds them to be exceptionally interesting creatures and desires, more than anything, to be able to play with them. Paired with
this obsession comes a strong biological imperative (due to her insectoid patronage) to sow her seed in her partners.
---
• Humans are basically just humans. They can be powerful, but their power levels are typically extremely far beneath
anything a yokai, deity, or any other species.
Kasarana - A girl from an order of sorceresses nearly as old as civilization.
Unfortunately, she built up so many gambling debts that she's forced to go against her order's guidelines to make money to pay back
her debtors.
Molly_Sinclair - A sorceres who works in the Grand Coven's main Library ranch at the
Sorceress' University.
Vixen - A human from another universe that was granted access to this one by some
strange means.
ZhuLing - A warrior who joined with the fighting just as things in his land were
calming down, as he wants the perks of being a warrior without actually having to fight.
